Late Master Haj Mohammad Sadegh Seirafian (born 1301 SH/1383 AH) was the third son of a family renowned for their rug-making skills. Despite being accepted to the University of Tehran to study law, he became fascinated with the art of rug-making and decided to pursue it full-time. He worked alongside his father, mastering the traditional techniques and methods passed down through generations.
Sadegh Seirafian was known for his exceptional craftsmanship and innovative designs, which blended traditional Persian motifs with modern elements. Some of his most famous rugs include "The Paradise of Seirafian" (eleven scenes), "Golistan", "Simurgh", "Bostan-e Eshgh", "Tavous", and others.
The name "Sadegh Seirafian" is often woven into the lower part of his rugs, signifying the quality, authenticity, and guarantee of their excellence.
Throughout his career, Sadegh Seirafian emphasized the importance of honoring one's nation and culture. He would often remind everyone that they should strive to be a source of pride and honor for their country and people.
Sadly, after a lifetime of dedicated work, Sadegh Seirafian passed away on the second day of Esfand month 1383 SH/1426 AH equivalent to February 20, 2005 CE. His legacy lives on as one of the most respected rug designers in Iran, leaving behind a lasting impact on the world of Persian rug-making
